1.         About 70,000 of Muslims rallied (集會) in a Pakistani port city of Karachi against a possible U.S.-led (美國主導的) war in Iraq.

2.         In India, several thousand people waved placards(標語牌) saying No War,as they marched eight km(five miles through the center of a southern city to protest against a U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

3.         Around 50,000 mainly Islamist (回教徒) demonstrators march through the Moroccan(摩洛哥的) city of Casablanca, protesting a possible U.S.-led attack on Iraq and branding (將…當成) President George W. Bush a war criminal(戰犯).

4.         Thousands of high school students across Australia cut class to march in demonstrations and protest Australia's likely involvement in(可能涉入) an attack on Iraq.

5.         Britain, the United States and Spain have proposed a draft resolution that says Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein has missed his final opportunity to disarm.

6.         The foreign ministers of France, Germany and Russia said Wednesday in Paris in a joint declaration that their nations will "not allow" passage (通過) of a U.N. resolution that authorizes war against Iraq.

7.         On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov suggested Russia could veto (否決) a new U.S.-backed resolution seen as paving the way to war in Iraq. Ivanov also said his country was unlikely to abstain (棄權) in any Security Council vote on Iraq.

8.         China sees no need for an additional U.N. resolution on Iraq and believes (省略that) weapons inspections should continue under a current resolution in efforts to avert war.

9.         The United States is basing more heavy bombers near North Korea and will formally protest the communist nation's "reckless actions"(輕率行為) in using MiG fighters(米格戰鬥機) to intercept a U.S. surveillance plane.

10.      A Swedish MP had a secret life (秘密生活) as a prostitute (妓女) when she was a student in the 1970s(正式寫法為1970s, 1970 年代). The politician's past is revealed(爆料) in a new documentary(紀錄片), Sex for Sale to Rich Men ((名詞片語,documentary 的同位語。與富人性交易), on Swedish television.
