Mother:         So, Wei-Ming, are you going to stay in the dorm after you get to school?

Student:         Actually, I was thinking maybe I could find a place outside the campus by myself,
or to share an apartment with other students. It will cost less.

Mother:          If you were asking my opinion, I would say live in the dorm, at least during
the first semester.

Student:          But I really don’t want to increase your burden unless it’s absolutely necessary.

Mother:     Though it will cost us more, it will also reduce the unnecessary pressure or even distraction from your study. Living on your own, how are you going to balance between school work and daily chores? No, I thing it’s better for you to live in school.

Student:   Can I think it over? I need to convince myself that it’s OK to spend your money!

Mother:   Let’s say that it’s the investment we make on you!
